The Christmas tree lighting ceremony as the San Raffaele Hospital

After love the greatest gift we can give is hope. This is why on Monday evening, at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, the President of GKSD Kamel Ghribi, together with the President of the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele Paolo Rotelli, wanted to give a message of hope and joy by celebrating the annual lighting of the San Raffaele Christmas tree. The event was also attended by diplomats, consuls and personalities from the business, banking and institutional worlds, including Attilio Fontana, President of the Lombardy Region, Claudio Sgaraglia, Prefect of Milan, Attorney General Francesca Nanni and also representatives of the police and armed forces. A host of stars, including TV presenters, singers and music groups, lent their support to the event, bringing a much-needed interlude and distraction to the young patients and their families, helping to enliven the evening.
GKSD and GSD President Kamel Ghribi commented: ‘The importance of this beautiful event is twofold in these difficult times of hardship and conflict. When I see the courage of young parents in the face a child’s illness, my heart is filled with hope for tomorrow; just as I am moved by the trust that parents and families place in our medical staff, who in turn do all they can to quickly treat and cure all those in need. By lighting this tree, we turn it into a symbol of hope. The light it emanates brings with it the hope and belief that even the darkest moments will pass.
