ECAM Summer Dinner 2025 - Bridging Continents and Fostering International Dialogue at Rome’s Villa Miani
In a time marked by global uncertainty, armed conflict and growing tensions in international trade relations, our collective responsibility is to build bridges: between the public and private sectors, between the state and the market, between Italy and Europe, between the countries of the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East. Not walls, but bridges. Not barriers, but dialogue.
This is the vision that inspired us to create ECAM – The European Council on Africa and the Middle East, an initiative that aims to promote cooperation, investment and shared development in strategic areas for security and mutual growth. A platform that was not created to divide but to unite, to connect experiences, skills, cultures and converging interests.
On these ideal and pragmatic foundations, we wanted to organise the fifth edition of the ECAM Council in Rome, a well-established event, which this year also saw the presentation of the Leadership Awards to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the Egyptian Minister of Health Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar and the prestigious Munich Security Conference. These are symbolic but deeply meaningful awards, given to those who, in different fields, have distinguished themselves for their strategic vision, concrete leadership and commitment to building a more stable and cooperative world.
We chose to bring together high-level representatives of public institutions and businesses in the capital to give shape to the unifying spirit that is the soul of ECAM. We have done so thanks to the synergy between GSD (Gruppo San Donato) and GKSD, which has once again proven to be the driving force behind this wonderful initiative and the catalyst for a courageous vision of the future.
The success of the event and the extraordinary participation that accompanied it confirm that there is an expectation for the future, for dialogue and for action . Everyone must do their part. And we, on the private side, will continue to do ours with integrity, passion and determination, driven by the conviction that peace, health and cooperation are not part of an abstract utopia, but achievable goals if the process is shared.
We believe in a world interconnected not only by markets but also by values. And we are committed to this vision with consistency and responsibility.
