Chairman Kamel Ghribi attended the 92nd session of the INTERPOL General Assembly in Glasgow, U.K.
GKSD&GSD Chairman Kamel Ghribi attended the 92nd session of the INTERPOL General Assembly today in Glasgow, U.K. As ever, it was his great pleasure to support Interpol President General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi and to wish incumbent Secretary General Jürgen Stock all the very best as he completes his second and final mandate after 10 years and hands over the role of guiding Interpol into the capable hands of Valdecy Urquiza of Brazil.
During the first summit in the U.K. in fifty years, the British PM Sir Keir Starmer addressed the issue of people smuggling, calling upon global leaders to 'wake up to the severity' of the challenge that people smuggling presents to security. The GKSD Chairman commented "Interpol is an important framework of cooperation that fosters understanding among nations and the institution of Interpol will continue to make a long-term difference to world security. GKSD/ GSD are ready to support this prestigious and fundamental organisation in many ways; however, perhaps the most important collaboration with Interpol is in the quest to end the human harvesting of organs and by implementing data protection technology, cybersecurity and A.l. solutions that protect patient privacy and healthcare paths. I am personally delighted to see that this year's summit agenda champions global partnerships, multilateralism and the significant impact that Al and technology is having across all sectors, particularly in policing and healthcare. Without Interpol's hard work promoting global dialogue among continents and strengthening national security at all levels the world would be a very different place.
The GKSD President was also pleased to exchange ideas during the 92nd Interpol General Assemble with Vice-President Peter DE BUYSSCHER; Garba Baba UMAR (Nigeria);Juan Carlos HERNÁNDEZ (Argentina); Binchen HU (China); Michael A. HUGHES (United States);María Alicia MALO SÁNCHEZ (Spain); Anne-Marie NAINDA (Namibia); Alaa RAGAB (Egypt); Selçuk SEVGEL (Türkiye) and Praveen SINHA (India).
