GSD Middle East President and GKSD Holding President Kamel Ghribi had a private meeting with the Secretary General of the Arab League the Hon. Ahmed Aboul Gheit to discuss the importance of a coordinated and united approach among Arab nations to strengthen healthcare facilities in the region. Healthcare will be top of the agenda at the G20 summit scheduled to be held in Rome this October, consequently, Chairman Kamel Ghribi decided to schedule the 2nd edition of the ECAM forum to coincide with this important event. He personally extended an invitation to the Hon. Secretary General to attend ECAM together with other participants from the Arab league with a view to further developing a number of important healthcare initiatives in the region.
 

During his flying visit to Cairo, Kamel Ghribi said that he felt privileged to visit first hand New Capital Cairo and tour the construction site identified for the new state-of-the-art hospital that will offer access to top class treatment to all citizens in need. GSD is supporting the development of this new University hospital and will help to deliver hi-tech treatment as well as medical R&D excellence . The GKSD President noted that due to the current COVID-19 pandemic a strong healthcare system is of the utmost importance, indeed he stated: “It is of fundamental importance that individual Arab nations establish their own independent well equipped medical and  research structures if we are to successfully fight COVID-19 in the region and face future pandemics.”
