The 5th ECAM Summit has come to a conclusion and marked a great moment for Italy and Africa. This non-profit entity is supported by GKSD Investment Holding and Gruppo San Donato (GSD) and is an important platform that brings together Government leaders from Africa and Italy as well as diplomats, officials and influential people from the world of finance and charitable foundations.

ECAM Founder and President Kamel Ghribi brought together key figures at the Excelsior in Rome, to give the initiative the kind of momentum that will ensure that Italy leads Europe towards Africa and the MENA Region. Indeed, ECAM’s principle mission is to promote sustainable development through targeted projects in the area of healthcare, education, infrastructure and renewable energy.

The inaugural gala dinner was held on the 29th of January at the Excelsior, and guests included a range of figures from the political and institutional arena including William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of Somalia, Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of Uganda, Ignazio La Russa, President of the Senate, Licia Ronzulli, Vice President of the Senate, Maria Elisabetta Casellati, Minister for Institutional Reforms, Luigi Di Maio, EU Special Representative for the Gulf Region and Alessandra Ricci, CEO of Sace. A further 16 Ministers, 15 Ambassadors, 4 leaders of international organisations and 6 Deputy Prime Ministers and Government Representatives were also present.
