On the 10th of September 2018, GK Investment Holding Group Chairman Kamel Ghribi was proud to attend a special ceremony held to mark the laying of the cornerstone for the new operating block and emergency room wing of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. The event embodied the great aspirations of this hospital group, which prides itself in being driven by clinical excellence!
The latest addition to the San Raffaele hospital will be upon completion a state of the art structure combining architecturally clean and simple lines conceived to give the appearance of an iceberg. The symbolic form ofthis avant-garde building was chosen to echo the high standards of environmental sustainability demanded by the San Donato Hospital Group Presidents. Constructed from glass using high-tech materials designed to reduce external pollution and kill internal bacteria, the Iceberg will also be covered in specially treated white ceramic strips that will react with water to transform smog into salts, thus reducing energy consumption by 60%.
Furthermore, graceful hanging gardens, led lighting, fixtures made from recycled plastic and titanium dioxide treated floors that will help to keep the environment sterile, all mean that this state-of-the art building will have the lowest possible environmental impact as well as being a pleasant surrounding for both patients and operators. Among the many dignitaries and VIPs in attendance at this illustrious grand foundation stone ceremony were politicians from the Italian government, diplomats from the Embassies and Consulates of Tunisia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, France, Saudi Arabia and Oman to name but a few.
