ECAM Council Forum participants were given a taste of the future in the form of a much anticipated visit to GSD’s new Galeazzi hospital.  The new avant-garde hospital is the biggest of its kind in Italy in terms of size, equipment and in-house specialists. The state-of-the-art GSD structure is an architecturally and environmentally innovative building that is considered to be symbolic of the hospital of the future. This beacon of technology, research and teaching will unite all of the GSD areas of medical excellence under one roof and once completed, this pioneering structure will be a 16 floor self-contained building.  In this way, the new Galeazzi hospital can optimise resources and enable access to immediate diagnosis and treatment.

Kamel Ghribi also made a point of informing his prestigious guests that  “2020 will forever be known as the year the world changed. The year that the global population truly understood how vulnerable and fragile it is. However, 2020 can also be the as the year we see the world united in the true spirit of cooperation. The year we understand the importance of coming together as humans of equal value. The year we undeniably recognise how important it is to work with Africa and the Middle East to eradicate disease if we are to successfully combat inevitable future pandemics. The year we finally understand that disease respects no borders.”

The Chairman concluded: “Through the medium of the new ECAM Council, GK Investment Holding Group and GSD will continue to provide solutions through research, technology, training, innovation and commitment to medical excellence.  The new Galeazzi Hospital is a symbol of modern healthcare that will give us the faith to understand and the widom to accept that medical excellence is key to our wellbeing today and in the future”
