Ecam, global dialogue and multilateralism for a more supportive world

The sixth summit of Ecam - European Council for Africa and the Middle East - the global dialogue platform created to promote communication, economic connections, peace, and stability, took place in New York on the occasion of the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations.
Heads of State and Government, representatives of the UN, and the European Union came together to discuss healthcare as a fundamental right, the theme of clean energy, education, research, and agro-industry.
The event, organized and coordinated by the President and founder of Ecam, Kamel Ghribi, was attended, among others, by H. E. Mokgweetsi Masisi the President of Botswana, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja the Prime Minister of Uganda, the Director General of World Health Organization Tedros Ghebreyesus, H. E. Sheikh Shakhbout - Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE, and other high representatives from Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire and Mauritania, NYC, the United Nations, the UN Economic Commission for Africa, the European Union, and other international organisations.
In his introductory speech, Kamel Ghribi said: “We are living in hugely uncertain times and the challenges of leadership are many but we have faith that the ECAM way is the new way and that peace can be reached only through political and interreligious dialogue, shortening the social, cultural, political and ethnic divides between Europe, Africa and the MENA region”.
The works, in which President of Gruppo San Donato Angelino Alfano took part and spoke, were concluded by the Secretary General of ECAM, Ambassador Ettore Sequi.
