The Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, was held yesterday in the presence of the President of the Senate, Sen. Ignazio La Russa, the Vice-President of the Council. The Hon. Antonio Tajani, the Hon. Health Minister Orazio Schillaci, and the Hon. Minister of Universities and Research, Anna Maria Bernini; together with numerous high-level officials from an array of institutions.
GKSD Chairman Kamel Ghribi noted that for some, this year’s ceremony represented the beginning of a new chapter that is ready to embrace the challenges of the future fully prepared; while for others, it marked the continuation of an already well established path that brings with it commitments and responsibilities, as well as new opportunities to contribute to the progress of our University and our nation.
GKSD &GSD Chairman Kamel Ghribi had a unique surprise this year, as he organised a special video message of encouragement and support that was sent to the students by His Holiness Pope Francis to open the ceremony.

We must stay focussed on one single goal, not only at the opening of the academic year, but also in our everyday lives and that goal is to forge a better future, a future in which knowledge and education are the pillars on which to build a more equitable and sustainable society.
Worthy students are formed day by day through study, curiosity, and the determination to face and overcome adversity through sacrifice and perseverance.
It is, in fact, to students that we must look towards if we want to build a future full of opportunities.
The San Raffaele Vita Salute, GSD and GKSD mission will continue to pursue excellence in research and teaching, through innovation, the exploration of new frontiers, technical knowledge, and top class education and move towards a better future for all.
