From Sfax to the Global Stage

Kamel Ghribi’s journey began in Tunisia, where the city of Sfax gave him his roots and shaped his sense of purpose. Leaving his homeland, he discovered that it was the challenges he faced—and how he met them—that defined his path. His Tunisian identity remained a guiding force, inspiring him to build a life of substance and a career of consequence.

His first business successes came in the oil and petrochemical sector, where seasoned professionals trusted him and gave him the freedom to prove himself. Determined to honour their faith, he rose quickly, heading a multi-million-dollar holding by the age of 29.

From there, he entered the world of international oil trading, managing complex commodity transactions and working with some of the industry’s most prominent players. He went on to hold senior leadership positions within various petroleum corporations, experiences that deepened his expertise and broadened his horizons.

By the mid-1990s, equipped with global experience and entrepreneurial resolve, Ghribi chose the road less travelled and founded his own family venture, GK Investment Holding Group, in Switzerland.

This bold step laid the foundations for GKSD Investment Holding in Italy, where he now serves as President. His interest in healthcare, combined with his conviction that finance and medicine together can have a transformative impact, led him to assume the role of Vice President of Gruppo San Donato, Italy’s largest private healthcare provider.
From Sfax to the global stage, Kamel Ghribi’s story reflects the power of roots, courage, and vision—turning challenges into opportunities and shaping a legacy of impact.

Throughout his career, Kamel Ghribi has never forgotten his roots. For over thirty years, he has worked to strengthen ties between Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, giving back to the regions where he operates through investment, equitable partnerships, and strategic ventures that support local economies.

In the late 1990s, he focused on leveraging his holdings in Switzerland and Italy to drive meaningful projects across infrastructure, agriculture, education, and healthcare.

Viewing Italy as a gateway to the Mediterranean, he strategically developed initiatives that generated growth while empowering communities—particularly by recognising and promoting the vital contributions of women in sectors such as agriculture and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Through this approach, Ghribi has demonstrated that sustainable success arises from the combination of vision, purpose, and impact, creating value for both business and society.

His international career brought him into contact with world leaders and luminaries from political, industrial, and cultural spheres, and he cultivated close relationships with some of the most influential figures of modern history.

Deeply aware of the challenges posed by conflict and instability, particularly in Africa and the MENA region, he has championed social responsibility in business. By leveraging the privileged position of the private sector, he has fostered collaboration with governments, institutions, educational bodies, and industry experts to develop critical projects in healthcare, education, energy, and infrastructure—turning investment into a force for lasting, positive change.

Shaping Healtcare, investment, and international Collaboration
Inspiring others is not difficult. All it takes is being tuned into those around you and finding a way to say the right word at the right moment. Even the smallest of gestures carried out at the right time will have the potential to turn a life around.

Philanthropy as a Legacy of Purpose

Mission
Kamel Ghribi has dedicated much of his life to philanthropy, driven by a profound belief in the power of giving to create lasting change. For him, success is not measured solely in financial terms, but in how it is used to uplift others — regardless of background, belief, or circumstance.

With early business success in the energy sector and as Chairman of GK Investment Holding Group, he has consistently used his achievements to champion causes close to his heart — most notably universal access to healthcare and education. He believes these are the foundation of any truly civilised society.

In his role as President of GSD Healthcare Middle East, he actively supports initiatives that expand access to care, build medical capacity and foster cross-border cooperation in healthcare. His philanthropic philosophy is rooted in action — empowering institutions, sharing expertise and bridging divides between sectors and nations.

For Ghribi, philanthropy is not charity — it is responsibility. A timeless ideal that builds unity, promotes dignity and lays the groundwork for a more just and stable world.

Leadership Through Vision and Collective Purpose

Vision
For Kamel Ghribi, true leadership begins with vision — the ability to imagine and communicate a shared future that inspires action. His personal vision is reflected in everything he does: his values, his goals, and his unwavering belief in purpose-driven enterprise.

He sees leadership not as a solo pursuit, but as a collective journey built on mentorship, education and the empowerment of future generations. Entrepreneurs, in his view, carry a civic duty to pass on knowledge and create pathways for youth to grow, evolve and lead.

Ghribi also advocates for unity across sectors and geographies, rejecting political divisions that threaten collaboration and progress. For him, inclusive dialogue and economic advancement must go hand in hand.

As an investor, he sees it as his responsibility to actively support the countries in which his businesses operate — ensuring that enterprise serves not just shareholders, but society at large.

A Philosophy Rooted in Respect, Resilience and Purpose

Commitment
Kamel Ghribi believes that true success stems not just from opportunity, but from perseverance, integrity and how we treat those around us. Guided by a deep respect for human dignity — regardless of status, background or belief — he has always championed fairness and empathy as essential pillars of leadership.

For Ghribi, long-term achievement is built on clear goals, unwavering commitment and the patience to overcome challenges without losing direction. While success may be hard-won, he believes it is attainable to those who stay the course — even in the face of setbacks.

Throughout his journey, he has remained firm in his belief: defeat may be inevitable at times, but discouragement is a choice. What defines us is not how often we fall, but how often we rise.

Business as a Force for Dialogue, Development and Social Progress

Social Responsibility
Throughout his career, Kamel Ghribi has increasingly applied his business acumen to foster dialogue between nations, institutions and industries — driven by a deep appreciation for the cultural and historical forces that shape global partnerships.

He views constructive dialogue not only as a diplomatic tool, but as a strategic advantage in navigating complex business environments. For Ghribi, business carries a moral responsibility: it must contribute to the social and economic wellbeing of the communities it serves — whether in mature economies or developing regions.

A strong advocate of socially responsible enterprise, he believes that prosperity must be shared and that meaningful growth must include healthcare, education and youth empowerment. His work across the Middle East and Africa reflects a long-held conviction: we cannot extract value from a region without investing in its long-term stability and future potential.

For Ghribi, empowering the next generation through knowledge and opportunity is not just a civic duty — it’s the foundation for building enduring value and shaping a more equitable global future.
