Kamel Ghribi with Niccolò Fontana, Italian Ambassador to Baghdad
GSD Vice President and GKSD Chairman Kamel Ghribi shared his great pride at witnessing the inauguration of the new Academic Year 2021/2022 of the University Vita - Salute San Raffaele in the presence of top-level politicians, ministers, ambassadors and dignitaries from an array of institutions who travelled from both Italy and abroad to attend and lend support to this wonderful event. Addresses were given by President of the Italian Senate Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati; Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza; President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana and Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala.
Kamel Ghribi was delighted to thank the distinguished guests as he welcomed the new undergraduate students and postgraduates to a University that prides itself in fostering excellence and producing medical professionals who do not simply treat the pathology, rather, who treat the patient as a whole.
This year’s ceremony coincided with the opening of the ‘Iceberg wing’, the latest hi-tech addition to GSD’s flagship San Raffaele University Hospital, a state-of-the-art structure that houses a specialised A&E centre that is set to become the new teaching hospital of the San Raffaele Vita-Salute University. The Iceberg has also been lauded for GSD’s desire to adopt an innovative use of sustainable energy solutions and renewable energy technology.
